Entry for the 2004 Wolverine Soft Game Development Contest Extravaganza!
Theme: Freedom.

The Resistance is about a revolutionary activist looking for support in overthrowing the dictatorial police regime currently ruling the city. You are the activist, and it is your job to persuade people to join the rebellion for freedom, but watch out! There are police agents roaming around the city, persuading people to stay loyal to the regime, and there are more of them than there are of you!

Using the arrow keys to move, you need to move around to the citizens and get political with them with the space bar. Repeatedly talk to citizens until they turn a dark shade of red and don't turn color anymore. This signifies that you have completely persuaded them, and they cannot be swayed by anything the police say. Sometimes when you talk with them, you say something that scares or offends them, and they turn less red, and more blue. Don't Despair! You're a very good speaker, and eventually you can convince them that rebellion is the path to freedom from the regime. The police operate just like you do -- when they convince someone to stay loyal to the regime, the citizen turns a shade of light blue and cannot be changed by your words.

Whoever convinces half the population to join their side first, wins. Persuade half the population first, and overthrow the regime! Vive le Resistance!

This game was made using:

WattSwitch

Calculate your global resource usage in watts at WattzOn.com and track your progress over time against yourself and against your friends with WattSwitch! Level up in consumption consciousness. Switch your mindset, switch the future of planet earth, and switch off the watts!

WattSwitch is not affiliated in anyway with WattzOn. WattSwitch *is* associated with the University of Michigan's Wolverine Soft student group and their 48-hour game competition on 2009-01-16. I'm not sure what other legalese to put up here. I wrote this in a haze?
