Squatter House

The Game:

Many people in the world could use some rest and relaxation. One day, one of these people receives a letter informing them that they have won a free vacation home from a real estate sweepstakes. The person arrives at their new vacation home, eager for a calming experience, only to find a squatter has taken up residence! You can play as the squatter or the rightful owner of the home, who will chase the squatter. If you are the chaser, you must chase and catch the squatter so you can kick him out and finally relax. If you choose to be the squatter, you will win if you can "lay claim" to your territory, by getting to enough waypoints in the house. In the game, you will choose a character and a house plan (maze), and your opponent will do the same. Each player is confined by the house plan they choose, but your opponent doesn't have to choose the same house plan as you. This means that while you are bound by the walls in your house plan, the other player may be able to disregard some of those walls! This game is multiplayer only, over a network. Featured characters include Lil John, Howard Dean, Sexy Grandpa, and more!

Features:

The quickest networked multiplayer game known to man! Single rounds of the game generally last less than 10 seconds, so you don't even have to set aside time during your day to play!

Familiar, yet innovative gameplay

Choose from 6 characters, each with a humorous story

10 different Powerups to give you an edge over your opponent

Pick up Bling so you can use your character's Special Move

Make your own mazes to put into the game!

Crisis Wolverine: Insurrection Green is the top down RPG that took this campus by storm. It is best described as Final Fantasy here on the U of M campus. This highly addictive, simplistic four hour game was... well... pure genius. The hard work really paid off and the development team can happily boast several thousand downloads.

Crisis Wolverine begins with the main character finding himself stranded on the campus of U of M during spring break. He soon uncovers MSU's dastardly plans to overtake the campus and must find it within himself to stop it. Those he encounters along the way will shape his destiny, and the destiny of the campus itself.

Ten years from now, an Evil Dictator dupes the UN into giving him control of the world. Within months his empire collapses, and he begins a global war to re-establish dominance. This RPG follows a group of heroes (?) through that conflict.

A demo will be released with at the April 2006 showcase, and the full game will be released during Welcome Week, Fall 2006.

Wolverine Soft Bomberman

Wsoft Bomberman is a simple 2D clone of the Super Bomberman games on SNES. The goals behind this game were to create a solid game engine that could be used for other 2D tile based games, and to help game development beginners to get a handle for things. We would then add network support and possibly AI controlled bombermen.

To read more about the game, its design and final thoughts from the developers, see the <a href="http://wolverinesoft.org/read/article/1>post mortem written by Dave Ratti.
