         <title>PlayPlace</title>

         <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;PlayPlace&lt;/em&gt; was my final project for EECS 494 - Computer Game Design and Development, completed in December 2005. The game uses Direct3D 9.0 for the 3D graphics API. It is designed to be a multiplayer game using Xbox 360 controllers for PC. However, it can be played with the keyboard (single player only), but using an Xbox 360 controller is highly recommended. A fluid physics simulation is the core element of the gameplay, meaning the primary task for the players is to interact with the movement of the balls. The fluid physics are based on the SIGGRAPH paper from 2003 entitled &quot;Particle-Based Fluid Simulation for Interactive Applications&quot;. Programming the physics was the most challenging part of the project, and I think it turned out very well. Below you can download the game, view screenshots or read the original design document (which is drastically different from the end result).&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

         <title>Arjeebie</title>

         <description>&lt;em&gt;Arjeebie&lt;/em&gt; was my arcade game project for EECS 494 - Computer Game Design and 
Development, completed in October 2005.  
The game is a falling block puzzle game, like &lt;em&gt;Tetris &lt;/em&gt;and&lt;em&gt; Lumines&lt;/em&gt;.

I was experimenting with a color-blending mechanic as the basis for the game 
play, and it turned out fairly well.  I was hoping it would be something as 
compelling and addictive as &lt;em&gt;Lumines,&lt;/em&gt; but I hit a dead end with the 
mechanic and couldn't think of ways to make it better.  Nevertheless, the 
end result was definitely a worthwhile experiment.  Also, I did something 
interesting with the music.  Each track of the song plays according to the 
colors of the blocks on the screen, so as you play, each instrument part is 
periodically turning on and off.  This is somewhat similar to turning the 
tracks on in the rhythm game &lt;em&gt;Frequency&lt;/em&gt;.  It definitely adds some 
flare to the game's audio, which was created for the game by my friend Evan 
Conte and his friend Mark Goldin.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;

Theme: Freedom.&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;
You are a shepherd who owns a flock of 4 sheep. They graze in a meadow, surrounded by a dark forest. Today, the sheep have decided that they want to be free, so they are attempting to leave the meadow. What they don't know is that there are wolves living in the forest that will shred a sheep to bits the moment it steps foot in the forest. You must contain your sheep using fences to save them from their own foolishness.&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;
The sheep are seeking freedom. You are trying to stop them from being free so that they aren't killed by the wolves.&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;
Controls&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;
Space = start game&lt;br/&gt;
P = pause&lt;br/&gt;
Left mouse click = place a vertical fence&lt;br/&gt;
Right mouse click = place a horizontal fence&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;
Objective&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;
Keep at least one sheep alive until the timer runs out.&lt;br/&gt;
Beat all 6 levels before running out of lives.&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;
Gameplay&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;
A sheep is killed if it enters the forest (the dark area at the edges of the screen).&lt;br/&gt;
Prevent the sheep from dying by placing fences to contain them.&lt;br/&gt;
You can only place as many fences as you have sheep remaining (4 at the start).&lt;br/&gt;
When you place a 5th fence, the oldest fence on the screen will disappear.&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;
Gameplay Tips&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;
-Try to form a box around the sheep to hold them in place.&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;
-Try to keep all the sheep close together.&lt;br/&gt;

         <description>&lt;p&gt;WolverineWare is the first true Wolverine Soft community project in a while. Development of this game will be done by programmers, artists, musicians, designers, beginners and experts alike. The idea behind the game is that it will be like WarioWare, Inc. (the GBA game) with a WolverineSoft/UofM theme. It will consist of a huge number of simple, short (as in, a few seconds long) &quot;microgames&quot; each developed by an individual or group of Wolverine Soft members. &lt;/p&gt;
