Moon Wars

Moon Wars is a free multiplayer game for the PC. It's a 3rd person 3D shooter, but focuses on short games (10-15 minutes) with strategy, resource collecting, and character upgrades.

Moon Wars is an easy game to pickup and enjoy. Those looking for an easy game to play will have fun deathmatching, collecting moon rocks, and upgrading their characters. Those looking for a deeper game will find a lot of strategy in Moon Wars. The ultimate goal is not to kill your opponent but to out resource them. There are many ways to accomplish this, and not all revolve around directly attacking your opponent. Each character is unique and has their own play style, strengths, and weaknesses.

Blobby Waters

In Blobby Waters the player uses his/her mouse to manipulate a dynamic fluid system in order to guide little green blobby men to safety. It is a very unique game that is easy to pick up and play and can be quite addicting. Currently there are 5 levels and a bonus level, but I plan on releasing the level editor as soon as I fix some bugs and add some user-friendly functionality.

The gameplay in Blobby Waters depends a lot on the level being played. Some levels can create a frantic click-fest atmosphere where the player feels like he is trying to juggle many things at one time. On the other hand other levels are carefully laid out with boundries and traps, and the player must strategically manipulate the fluid system to create a safe pathway for the blobby men.

Heart Attack is a goofy action arcade game for the PC. It is a simple game that is meant to be played with an analog joystick (though can be played from the keyboard). Its highlights are single and multiplayer modes, simple addictive gameplay, and cool music. I am using this game as test-bed for the 2D portion of my Real Time Fluid Dynamics direct study.

Wolverine Soft Bomberman

Wsoft Bomberman is a simple 2D clone of the Super Bomberman games on SNES. The goals behind this game were to create a solid game engine that could be used for other 2D tile based games, and to help game development beginners to get a handle for things. We would then add network support and possibly AI controlled bombermen.

To read more about the game, its design and final thoughts from the developers, see the <a href="http://wolverinesoft.org/read/article/1>post mortem written by Dave Ratti.
